  • Beginners to Advanced
  • We recommend this course for students who want to enjoy their everyday life in Japan, communicate with co-workers, make Japanese friends and improve their Japanese language skills.

Length

  • Approximately 50 hours of instruction

Outline

  • Learn how to greet people, order at restaurants, shop, ask for directions, invite friends and other basic skills needed in everyday life.
  • Learn hiragana and katakana (the two phonetic alphabets in Japanese), and common everyday kanji (Chinese characters)

Teaching Materials

  • "Japanese for busy people I ," or "Minna no Nihongo I "

Length

  • Approximately 100 hours of instruction (cumulative 150 hours)

Outline

  • Improve speaking skills by learning how to deal with a variety of situations. Students will improve their knowledge of expressions, how to describe hobbies, make reservations, etc.
  • Approximately 100 kanji will be introduced.

Teaching Materials

  • "Japanese for busy people II," or "Minna no Nihongo II"

Length

  • Approximately 150 hours of instruction (cumulative 300 hours)

Outline

  • Learn how to create longer sentences, ask and answer questions, and be more detailed when offering explanations.
  • Learn the proper use of keigo (honorific Japanese)
  • Approximately 300 kanji will be introduced.

Teaching Materials

  • "Japanese for busy people III","Intermediate Japanese","Minna no Nihongo II" or another textbook based on individual goals.

Length

  • Approximately 300 hours of instruction (cumulative 600 hours)

Outline

  • Course focuses on expanding vocabulary, accurate listening skills, discussing a wide range of topics and ensuring proper balance of students' skills.
  • Approximately 500-1000 kanji will be introduced.

Teaching Materials

  • "Japanese for students of intermediate," Newspaper and internet articles, or equivalent based on individual goals.

Length

  • Approximately 300 hours of instruction (cumulative 900 hours)

Outline

  • Course focuses on expanding vocabulary, accurate listening skills, and discussing a wide range of topics with confidence. The aim of the course is to train studnets to the highest level.
  • Approximately 1000-2000 kanji (Chinese characters) will be introduced.

  • "Japanese for students of advanced ," Newspaper and internet articles, or equivalent based on individual goals.
